Atlanta edges visiting East Kentucky

ATLANTA – Playing in a road game Thursday at Morris Brown College, visiting East Kentucky slipped down into the loss column. The host Atlanta Krunk defeated the Miners 107-104 in a CBA American Conference game. For Atlanta, Thursday’s triumph snapped a two-game losing streak.

Zach Marbury led host Atlanta, scoring a game-high 28 points. Steve Thomas rounded up a game-high 12 rebounds for the Krunk.

Atlanta won the quarter points 5.0-2.0.

East Kentucky, which swept a pair of games played inside the East Kentucky Expo Center over Atlanta earlier in the month, owned numerous leads during the third-ever matchup between the two CBA expansion franchises.

Josh Pace led East Kentucky with 27 points. In his first game after being named CBA American Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 24, Boo Jackson pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds for East Kentucky.

The Miners will take on Atlanta on Saturday in another regular-season contest. Tip-off for Saturday’s game pitting East Kentucky versus the Krunk is set for 7:05 p.m.
