PIKEVILLE, KY. – High school basketball fans from numerous Eastern Kentucky counties received an added bonus Friday, Jan. 11 when the East Kentucky Miners visited Knott County Central High School for the annual WYMT Classic boys' high school basketball tournament. The Diamond Girls, official dance team for the East Kentucky Miners, also made an appearance.

This year's WYMT Mountain Classic was made up of the following boys' high school basketball teams: Knott County Central,
June Buchanan, Knox Central, Pikeville, Clay County, Cumberland and Hazard. Defending 14th Region champion June Buchanan outlasted familiar foe Hazard in the championship game, winning 58-53. June Buchanan, one
of the state's top boys' basketball teams, claimed its second straight WYMT title.
