Miners KO Krunk in road game
ATLANTA – The East Kentucky Miners ended the 2007 portion of the 2007-08 season on a high note Saturday, Dec. 29 at Morris Brown College, defeating the Atlanta Krunk 105-98 in a Continental Basketball Association (CBA) American Conference matchup.
East Kentucky dominated the quarter points, prevailing 5.5-1.5 in the all-important category.
Reigning CBA American Conference Player of the Week Boo Jackson and Josh Pace, a former player of the week honoree, paced the Miners with 20 points apiece.
Jackson recorded a double-double for visiting East Kentucky as he pulled down 12 rebounds. The former Eastern Michigan University standout shared the game-high rebounding nod.
Zach Marbury led host Atlanta with a game-high 35 points. Marbury, who also dished out seven assists, claimed game-high scoring honors for the Krunk in a second straight game. Steve Thomas hauled in seven rebounds for the Krunk (7-11).
East Kentucky (10-11) will resume play on Thursday, Jan. 3 in a road game versus Butte. Tip-off for the East Kentucky-Butte game is set for 6:15 p.m.
